The Bautechnische Versuchs- und Forschungsanstalt Salzburg (bvfs) is an independent, private institute, whose sponsor since 1968 is the nonprofit organization Gemeinnütziger Verein für Bautechnische Versuchs- und Forschungsarbeiten Salzburg (vbvfs). The bvfs is committed to objectivity, impartiality and confidentiality.

The bvfs offers testings, inspetions and calibrations as well as related consultations in public and undertakes to carry them out objectively according to prescribed rules, irrespective of the legal entity of the client.

The bvfs works in accordance with the principles of ISO 9001 and is committed to a high quality of its services. Through high competence and professional practice of the employees the best possible customer satisfaction is aimed for. The internal quality management system of the bvfs has the task to keep the quality of services at a high level and to ensure national and international recognition.

The bvfs is accredited by the Federal Ministry (Accrediation Austria). The accreditation is based on ÖNORM EN ISO / IEC 17025, ÖNORM EN ISO / IEC 17020 and ÖNORM EN ISO / IEC 17065.
